Art Globe App is for art admirers wishing to have all the necessary information on paintings, museums, and galleries at their fingertips. The app offers a database of more than 2400 paintings and some 200 galleries and museums, interactive maps, a timeline of paintings, and paintings sorted by painter, art period, and subject matter.

Are you fond of Johannes Vermeer and want to locate all of his paintings? Just tap the PAINTINGS button and SEARCH for Vermeer. You get a list of all of his 35 paintings with a possibility to get the information about the gallery or museum, its location on an interactive map and a list of other important works of art housed in this gallery or museum.

You might also want to choose the MAP view showing the location of all the galleries and museums in a particular geographic area, such as Eastern US or Europe. Now you can SEARCH for a particular painter and see the location of all the museums and galleries with his paintings on the map.

Are you sitting in New York and want to find out which museum or gallery is housing paintings to your taste? Choose the LOCATIONS button and SEARCH for New York. You now can see the list of all six museums and galleries in this area. Tap any of the locations and get a list of paintings in that particular gallery or museum.

Choose TIMELINE in the MENU and get a list of more than 2400 paintings sorted according to their date of creation in steps of 50 years. Tap the period of 1851 to 1900 and you will see a list of artworks painted during this time and sorted according to their creator.

Are you a Greek mythology buff? Choose SUBJECTS in the menu and tap the entry MYTHOLOGICAL. This gives you a list of all paintings with mythological subjects sorted by the painter. You now can admire and learn about such paintings as "Bacchus and Ariadne" by Titian in the National Gallery in London, "Laocoön" by El Greco in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, or "Apollo in the Forge of Vulcan" by Diego Velázquez in the Prado Museum in Madrid.

Do you admire works of art from a specific art period? Do you want to see the paintings of the Dutch artists from the Baroque period such as Vermeer, Metsu, Hobbema, Maes, ter Borch, Ruisdael or Dou? Tap "Art period" in the MENU, choose "Baroque" and see a list of all paintings from this art period sorted according to their creator.

Have you woken up in a foreign city such as Houston, Texas and would like to visit the Museum of Fine Arts? Tap LOCATIONS and SEARCH for Houston. You get the screen for this museum with an interactive map showing its location and a link to their website. Moreover, you can directly ask for driving directions, or, alternatively, find a link to the local public transport. There is also a link to the app of this museum or gallery if such app is indeed available.
